Operational Director, UK and International
Ewan McMahon (46) has a long and varied career within the Retail sector, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience due to the various positions he has held within the UK and Internationally.
Ewan spent 24 years with Tesco and during his tenure he progressed throughout the organisation. He began his career as a Store colleague and progressed to the role of Store Manager, a position he held for 6 years. In 2004 Ewan moved to Japan as the Operations Manager, Tesco Japan. After 2 years living in Japan, Ewan moved back to the UK to undertake the role of Stores Director and then Operations Director for Tesco Extra Format UK. Ewan then travelled to Turkey in 2011 as the Chief Operating Officer for Tesco Kipa where he led over 200 Stores together with Distribution Centres, Central Product Supply, Operations Support Office, Grocery Online Shopping & Human Resources.
In 2016, Ewan joined Iceland as the International Director taking responsibility for wholly owned Stores, Franchise Stores and Wholesale Operations covering over 40 countries. Ewan became the Operational Director UK & International in 2017. Within this role Ewan oversees the running of over 900 Stores 23,000 Store colleagues, Group Supply Chain, Delivered Sales and Group HR.
Ewan lives in Widnes with his wife and children, he is an avid Everton fan and a keen tennis player.
Louise Dhaliwal (50) joined Iceland as a trainee programmer on leaving university in 1989, after graduating in Business Studies. She has spent her entire career with the company in IT roles, becoming Head of IT in 2012 and IT Director in 2014.
Louise manages a team of 88 and is responsible for IT solutions throughout the entire Iceland estate: stores, depots, pick centres and head office. During the last 12 months some of the larger projects delivered have included replacing electronic point of sales solution for over 900 stores, rolling out new HHTs and applications for all stores for online picking, and implementing a JDA space planning solution.
Louise is married with four children and lives in North Wales. Outside work, her passions are her family, fitness and travel.
